What is the Trans Healthcare Fund?

We Exist is a mutual aid collective that focuses on redistributing funds, meaning we raise money to give directly to trans people. The Trans Healthcare Fund is a no-strings-attached £50 grant available to financially assist any ongoing healthcare costs for trans people in London. Associated costs for healthcare include those for medication, gender affirming clothing, transport to medical appointments, counselling, crowdfunders or any living costs such as rent, food or bills.

Who can apply?

Any London based trans person in need of financial assistance for healthcare who is:

  • Unemployed

  • In precarious/non-permanent employment

  • In low paid employment ( under London living wage £11.95 p/h)

How to apply?

why an ongoing fund?

We recognise that healthcare and associated needs are woefully inadequate for trans* people in the UK. Whilst hate crimes against trans* people have increased by 81% the waiting list for any NHS treatment at all has spiralled out of control with many waiting upwards of 4 years. As a direct result trans* people are being forced to access costly care either through private practice or a third party chemist which at best is unreliable and at worst can be unsafe. On top of this we know employment for trans* people is particularly precarious and many also have additional costs incurred for mental health therapy, clothing costs and basic needs like housing and food. Our fund is open to all trans* people in the UK who need it and will be ongoing for as long as we can manage it. The form below will give some more details…
