We Exist is a trans mutual aid, activist, and coalition-building collective based in Cardiff and London.

Founded in 2020 as a community response to COVID-19, we began by raising and redistributing funds to support trans people facing financial hardship and barriers to healthcare. Since then, our work has expanded to include community organising, political education, cultural programming, demonstrations, exhibitions, and workshops. At the heart of everything we do is mutual aid: the belief that care is a collective responsibility and that we can meet one another's needs through solidarity rather than charity.

Trans people have faced generations of exclusion, discrimination, and institutional oppression. Over the past decade, these injustices have intensified through an escalating healthcare crisis, growing poverty, and increasing political and media hostility. We refuse to accept these conditions as inevitable.

We are a socialist organisation, so believe that trans liberation is inseparable from the struggle against capitalism and all systems of oppression. The same forces that deny trans people healthcare and dignity also exploit workers, criminalise migrants, enable racism, profit from war and genocide and drive ecological collapse.

Our work seeks to meet immediate needs while building the collective power needed to transform society and create a world in which the health and care of the people, not the accumulation of profit, are the foundation of society.
